In 11th of March 2023, EMIRTA unveiled a brand-new, exciting national research project focusing on understanding the contribution and implementation challenges of the national district health information software 2 (DHIS2) that has been in place since 2017. The event was attended by researchers from EMIRTA, the Amhara regional health bureau and Jimma University. EMIRTA obtained funding from WHO’s Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and the Department of Digital Health and Innovations to investigate how interventions on digital data solutions for PHC managers in Ethiopia have contributed to strengthening health systems. This is in line with Ethiopia’s information revolution (IR) roadmap that aims to digitize health management information system (HMIS) and promote use of data for decision making.
